Lancaster South Rotary Club Honors Student of the Month

 

Emily Ott, a senior at Lampeter Strasburg High School, has been selected as Lancaster South Rotary Club’s Student of the Month for November, 2013. She was presented to the club by Dr. Kevin Peart, Superintendant of the Lampeter Strasburg School District.

 

Emily is the daughter of Tim and Jane Ott of Strasburg.

 

Emily is a member of the Scholastic National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honors Society. Her school activities include Student Council, L-S Thespian Society, Interact Club and Chorus. She was the vice-president of her junior class. Emily was chosen as Lampeter Strasburg’s 2013 Homecoming Queen.

 

Emily has received recognition as a Pioneer Superlative, a Burrowes Science and Spanish Scholar, a Scholastic Art Award winner and has been honored as an L-S student of the month. Emily has been on the Distinguished Honor Roll, a recognition given to students who achieve all As.

 

 

 

In the community Emily is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, takes dance classes and voice lessons.

 

 

 

Her hobbies and interests include singing, dancing, acting, volunteering, reading and traveling.

 

 

 

Emily’s future plans are to attend a 4 year college to study Spanish and Education.  She would like to become fluent in Spanish, and serve in a Spanish-speaking country.

 

 

 

Student of the Month is selected on the basis of academic excellence as well as school and community service.
