PTSD

Deployment to war-zones expose our servicemen and women to high-levels of stress for extended periods of time. That stress can change how the brain functions, contributing to Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD) which makes readjustment to civilian life difficult. Research has shown that structured writing programs actually help to rewire the brain and reverse the damage caused by PTSD. Writeface, a non-profit organization based in Lancaster County, provides guided creative writing and expressive expressive writing workshops for veterans and their family members. Writeface never charges vets or their family members to attend our workshops.
