
Ella Horst, a senior at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, has been selected as Lancaster South Rotary Club’s Student of the Month for February, 2022. She was presented to the club by Dr. Ben Feeney, Principal of Lampeter-Strasburg High School.
Ella is the daughter of Cliff and Roselle Horst of Lancaster.
Ella has earned Distinguished Honor Roll recognition and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is a member of marching band, jazz band, concert band, concert choir, full orchestra and Madrigals. Ella is the senior representative to the L-S Board of School Directors and is a member of the girls’ basketball team. She was member of the 2021 Lampeter-Strasburg Homecoming Court, where she finished as the second runner-up. Ella is a two time Burrowes Scholars recipient and received the DAR good citizen award.

Outside of school, Ella is part of the youth group and worship team at Strasburg Mennonite Church and enjoys playing music in the community.
In her spare time, Ella enjoys sports, being outdoors, science, theology and spending time with her family and friends.
Following graduation, Ella plans to attend a four year college and hopes to become a labor and delivery nurse.

Cassie Meck, a senior at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, has been selected as Lancaster South Rotary Club’s Student of the Month for February, 2022. She was presented to the club by Dr. Ben Feeney, Principal of Lampeter-Strasburg High School.
Cassie is the daughter of Robert and Shannon Meck of Strasburg.
Cassie has earned Distinguished Honor Roll recognition and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is president of Tri-M Music Honor Society, vice-president of the Thespian Society and secretary of the Spanish Club. Cassie is a member of jazz band, concert band, concert choir, and Madrigals. She is also a member of varsity club, Pioneer Interact Club and Inter-Club council. Cassie is a member of the girls’ softball team and participated in the spring musical.

Outside of school, Cassie is a Chorister & Youth Worship leader and is part of the youth group at Strasburg Mennonite Church.
In her spare time, Cassie enjoys singing, playing softball, thrifting, watching movies, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.
Following graduation, Cassie plans to attend a four year college to study Spanish.
